What you will find here...
The thought that I wish to work out on this site can be traced back to a conversation in 1977 with my late astrology teacher, Hans Cosman. In that year he was completing a three-year course which I had been attending during its final year. As a level-headed exact scientist I was stunned by what had been shown to me during those evenings. One of the questions that I put before him was how astrology might be understood within the existing acknowledged scientific views on reality, how it might find a place there. The sole remark that he offered as a response was about projection, and it was só abstract that it strained my budding cosmological understanding to the very limit. Nevrtheless, this remark came close to Krishnamurti's vision about projection. So over the years this answer has reverberated in me like an echo, and in my search for integration of those different world views, this one remark took root inside of me and grew out into the ultimate touchstone.
Integration
On this site I now want to undertake a search. My main purpose is to resume different world views to a common denominator. To accomplish this, I use astrology as a tool. Without any wish to either accept or dispute it, I hope to strip astrology of its magic, in order to turn it into a suitable instrument for integration. To this end, I want to examine how it operates, where it derives its material from, and what kind of interpretations may be based on this material, and which not.
As a starting-point for my line of reasoning, I will put forward some cosmological considerations, both in a technical and a philosophical sense. Then I will connect these to the astrological way of thinking, and finally apply them to the interpretation of constellations in the horoscope.
Many cases - no claim
Comparing this interpretation to actual occurrences might confirm the approach developed so far. Yet, every astrological constellation constitutes an integrated, separate whole, in which the internal relationships will express themselves in specific and unique ways. Therefore, this testing method, even when applied to many cases, cannot claim to provide any objective proof of the validity of this approach.
Science
Actually, astrology cannot be proved right or false within the current scientific way of thinking. Even statistically speaking, a series of separate cases cannot provide any general rules. Therefore it is not the purpose of this site to either challenge or confirm the validity of astrology.
